The Evidence Lab
Moving from Data Collection to Definitive Proof
The Evidence Lab is the technical engine of the Essentrify Abatement Information Ecosystem (AIE). While traditional EHRs focus on billing and discrete medical events, the Evidence Lab is a longitudinal research platform designed to capture the 18-year trajectory of community-based remediation.
The AIE functions as the “longitudinal glue” across disparate community touchpoints. By integrating via HL7 / FHIR with existing platforms—including regional Health Information Exchanges—the Evidence Lab tracks interventions and outcomes into a single, verifiable narrative.
Outcome Verification & Longitudinal Research
- The Multi-Year Mandate: We follow the recovery journey across decade-long cycles, ensuring that every intervention meets the legal definition of Remediation.
- Forensic Documentation: We automate the link between service delivery and long-term stability, providing the research-grade data needed to validate your community's success.
Fidelity Benchmarking
The Evidence Lab aggregates data across the Opioid Settlement Ecosystem to build a multidimensional evidence base:
- Longitudinal Evidence: Granular tracking of interventions and outcomes, providing a continuous record of an individual's progress through the continuum of care.
- Horizontal Evidence: Anonymized, federated data that allows municipalities to benchmark their ROI against peer organizations and successful national models.
- Fidelity Benchmarking: We identify which “Promising Practices” demonstrate statistically significant results, establishing the fidelity benchmarks for effective abatement in both rural and urban environments.
Interoperable Research Node
The Evidence Lab is built for collaboration, functioning as a specialized plug-in for institutional infrastructures.
- Standard-Based Interoperability: We ingest data via HL7 / FHIR, apply specialized abatement algorithms, and return longitudinal insights to your primary systems.
- Bridging the Forensic Gap: We fill the documentation needs that general-purpose EHRs are not optimized to handle—specifically regarding Abatement Attribution for “soft costs” like peer-support networks, administrative leadership, and staff training.
“Why Should I Want This?”
The Evidence Lab is the evidentiary backbone of your Learning Health System — providing the specialized evaluation framework required by Section VI.B.2 of the National Settlement and ensuring that your innovative Promising Practices are fully documented, continuously measured, and ready for any review.
